India's growth in Orkut
I've been a member of the "Orkut Statistics" community in Orkut for a while now and one of the coolest topics there is quite simply a daily collection of the Orkut nationality statistics. They're keeping a history of Orkut's geographical distribution. Being percentages, the numbers are mostly eclipsed by the overwhelming presence of Brazilians, but they still allow some interesting observations to be made.
For instance, take a look at the growth of the percentage of Indians in Orkut this year, Jan 1st to March 15th:

Here's the raw data. Pretty impressive, especially considering that these are percentage numbers: in other words, Indian presence is growing faster than Orkut's growth, and Orkut itself has grown from 12 to over 14 million users during this period. And given India's population, I figure there's still room for a lot of growth. Nice to see Orkut becoming a bit more international again!
